Establishing your client base. Building up a trust with those people doing one thing. – Gary George
Gary has been involved with big names in the music industry before getting into marketing. It was those connections and the level of trust that was built that helped to shape his business today. He spoke about having that dream and drive to become an entrepreneur from a very young age. He shared lessons that have helped him get where he is and tips on how to make your business grow. A business cannot grow if you are the one doing everything. It takes the right team to see the business flourish and thrive. “You got to work hard and got to love what you do.”
Gary’s One Idea
Ever since he was a child, Gary knew he was going to be a business owner. But he needed somewhere to learn the skills he needed for his business, even though he didn’t know what that business was going to be. Sales was his answer. He first interned at D&D Studios in Manhattan and worked with big names such as Biggie Smalls, Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige. He eventually did sound for the artists on their tours and when he came home, his friends wanted to hear behind the scenes stories of the tour. He eventually started to film behind the scenes and would share them via his “Hip Hop Raw Television” show. This was the beginning of his company Blazin Multimedia. Due to his work with artists filming music videos, he was able to use those connections to offer more services such as graphics design, web design and marketing.
Blazin Multimedia is a one stop company, where you can receive graphics design, web design and marketing services. At first Gary was doing everything and learning all the skill sets he would need to make his company successful. “You can’t do everything and grow a business. You absolutely must delegate your tasks and you absolutely have to get people who are better than you to replace you.” He was able to find the right people for the various tasks in his company. Gary and his team will look at your entire business, find out where the money is coming from and what services are important, and find what the immediate returns from your sales are. They figure out the “Lifetime value is the measurement of how much, the average amount that every one of your clients is going to give you over the lifetime, not just the first sale; not just the second sale but how many times are they going to come back to you and actually spend money for the next three, four, five years.” Then they will come up with a customized strategy of what works for your company.

Lessons / Struggles
“You can’t do everything and grow a business. You absolutely must delegate your tasks and you absolutely have to get people who are better than you to replace you.”
He was scared to reinvest in himself and his business. You need to be willing to spend in order to see your company grow.
Make sure you have money for marketing on top of creative services. “If no one sees it, then it’s really nonexistent.”
Launch what you have and spend money on the market. That will bring in the business for your company. People need to see what you’re offering.
“By me doing it and being in the trenches that is the best way for you to completely understand how to select or choose another person who has the skill set.”
Use affiliate marketing to test out all methods of sales. You’ll learn a lot about what works and what doesn’t.
Don’t identify the problem for your customer. They need to identify the problem in order to understand what they need.
There will always be ups and downs but be determined and have thick skin to weather the storms.
