Per Eric Enge,”If you’re an entrepreneur or thinking about being an entrepreneur, doubt about you is what’s holding your back….you have to be passionate about what you’re doing. The Passion carries you through the doubts.” Eric describes how he became an entrepreneur and gives great advice on following his passion and making a difference. Eric had emphasized, when you see that something that needs to be done, you just go do it (make it happen). Don’t wait for permission. As an entrepreneur you can make a decision and pretty much make things happen very quickly.

Eric’s One Idea
Eric was doing consulting business for a CEO that was trying to sell DVDs online. Thirty days into the business he realized that they ought to get some of the traffic from the search engine into the website. The CEO had tasked him to learn to figure out how the traffic the search engine into their website. A year later that company was doing $3million in sales. And this was the spark to doing his business.
Eric had built and developed three different websites with some people. These went on to be very prominent websites within their niche. He later helped to find buyers for them and assisted in helping them have very successful exits. He considered this a very rewarding experience. “When the garbage needs to be taken out, you take it out. There is no one else there to do that for you.”
The consulting business was secondary but still was a source of cash flow for them while their publishing projects were being focused on. Until the consulting business started to grow, they added more people to it and then it became more of their primary business.
Per Eric Enge, “In a nutshell what we do is help people get more traffic for their websites and more revenue if that’s their goal or more conversion for their business…Now the search engines have a lot of limitations so one big piece of SEO is helping build websites”
Content marketing engagements have brought in half of their revenue. These are PR-like activities, content on their client’s sites, content with PR, etc…
Lessons / Struggles

You have to try things that are not going to work. This could be your whole business or a specific idea within the business. Be prepared to fail fast and make changes if you have something that is not going to work. Once you have made the realization you can move quickly to the next idea.
